LONDON PRODUCE MARKETS.
WELLINGTON, Nov. 5. The High Commissioner's market report dated London, November 3, is as follows, quotations unless otherwise, specified, being average market prices on spot. JMeat. The following maximum wholesale meat prices have been fixed from the beginning of November: — Home-killed beef, 12d; imported hinds, 11M; fores, 9Ad; Home-killed mutton and lamb, 13d; imported, Hid. No frozen meat has been released during the week, with the exception of New Zealand. South Island lamb lOd (from previous releases); Argentine mutton, 113-Sd; Argentine lamb, Hid; fores, 9-}d. Butter. —Active demand owing to short supplies. No official quotation with the exception of Paris, 256/S; Argentine, 220/; unsalted ditto 223/, New Zealand stocks are exhausted. Cheese. —The market continues firm all at Government prices. Homp.—The manila market no change. The New Zealand market is practically cleared. Business is dull for forward shipments on account of freight difficulty. For spot and near at hand hemp there is active demand at Government prices. Wheat.—Government offerings are very small. The market is quiet at official quotations. Oats.—The market is steady and prices are well maintained. ,
