The United States transport, Finland, homeward bound was torpedoed and returned to a foregn port under her own steam, with no loss of life. The Finland was under escort, and neit-lier torpedoer or submarine was sighted. ITALIAN SHIPPING. SINKINGS FOR THE WEEK Received 8.40. LONDON, Nov 1. Italian shipping returns for the week are 439 arrivals and 376 departures. Two steamers were sunk one escaped after being attacked. BRITISH /WEEKLY REPORT. LONDON, November 1. The Admiralty reports: Arrivals during the week were 2285 and sailings 2321. Fourteen vessels over 1600 tons and four under 1600 tons were sunk. One was unsuccessfully attacked.
