The wedding scene (now famous), when, tormented by the deception which she is carrying out, and tortured by the threats of the blackmailing •• villain, she rushes in and confesses, all is a marvel of thrilling excitement and high The photography is uniformly beautiful throughout the drama, and the whole production marks the play as worthy in every way of its beautiful leading actress. The second episode of "The Mysteries of Myra" will also be shown. EVERYBODY'S > ... To-morrow Saturday a three-hour ' programme will be screened at Everybody s .There .will be two star attractions Topical Budget and comedy. The Lasky Company have produced a clever dramatic work, "Lostand Won," being a new version of "Daddy Longlegs" ••.}n which, thaty clever actress,, Marie Doro, appears in the title role. This actress will be remembered by all picture-goers for her great success in "The Heart of Nora Flynn," "The Lash," and "OliverTwist." Another feature will be the big Art Drama "Her Good Name." Throughout the five acts of this photoplay of sunshine and heart-throbs, Jean Southern who plays the leading part, gives -one of the most delightful and. impressive characterisations ever seen on the screen.
The usual matinee will be given in the afternoon when the Lasky production "Lost and Won," will be shown.
NEW ZEALANDERS AT WAR. TOWN HALL TO-NIGHT. To-night, in,the : T.own Hajl, ; Mr Gerald Anderson, . M.J.L. , (London), IVLR.S.A (Sydney), will give -his famous illustrated lecture on, "New Zealanders at War." Mr Anderson has been with the New all fronts where they have been fighting and his narrative will be his own experience gained from personal contact with our men. His story : will be so profusely illustrated- as to convey to the mind the true nature of all happenings he deals ; with,, and as the Press of this, country is* uniformly enthusiastic oyer Mr-Anderson's war picture story, he can confidently be depended upon to give Taihape people, at the Town Hall, to-night, arf interesting and thrilling time, telling of the exploits of our boys. Mr Ander-
son is a strong supporter of education, and, although it is not generally known, he is giving a fourth of the money paid for admission to-night to the Taihape School Committee for the benefit of our public school." It might also be mentioned that Mr Anderson is not a foreigner, as he is the son-in-law of the Rev. Dr. Waddell, of Dimedin. '
SCHOOL ANNUAL BALL. Once more the attention of every resident in this town and district is drawn to the effort the Public School is making to raise funds to enable the hundred and one things essential that are not provided by Governs&sat. These needs are too well-know*i to leave any occasion for referring to them in detail. The whole of our local educational organisation is moving as one to make the school's third annual plain and fancy dress ball as great a success as possible. As there is nothing, of much greater importance than the education of our children, it may be taken for granted that teachers and School Committee will have that hearty public response to their efforts whic,h they 50... truly merit. The Ball takes place in the Town Hall on this day week. Children will hold sway on the floor from 7.30 till 9 p.m., when they will retire and adults take possession.
