Mr Chairman of the Shipping Board, says that shipyards will deliver seven and a-half million tons of new vessels in 1918. Every assistance is being rendered to shipyard firms and workers. President Wilson’s dictum that there must be no commercial boycott after the war is finding favour with the Allies, and the various missions have informed the Tariff Commissioner that all important nations have abandoned plans to deny Germany markets.
