WELLINGTON, this day. The High Commissioner’s cabled marie; ; report, dated London, October 26, is as. follows, quotations, unless otherwise specified, being average market prices on spot:— Meat. —Large supplies of Home-killed* beef, 10ld, and 12-ld, Home-killed mutton in small supply, 13d. No frozen meat has been released by order of the Government during this week. New Zealand mutton and lamb, no supplies available; no quotations. 'Argentine mutton, 113-Sd, lamb, Hid. Patagonian, lOd; all in small supply. Argentine chilled beef; Hinds, Hid; fores, 91 d. Butter. —All kinds of butter small supply, active demand. Following maximum prices are fixed: Salted —Paris 256/8; New and Canadian, 224/; American, Argentine and Australian unsalted, butter 3s more in each case.

Cheese.—The market continues firm. New Zealand, United States fiats, Australian and Canadian at Government prices; English Cheddar, 137/. Holders are not anxious to sell, in view of higher prices to take effect on and after November 1. Hemp.—Manila and New Zealand’s remain at last reported. Manila arrivals are reported of 25,000 bales, for which no rise will occur unless (code word for this was mutilated.) New Zealand offerings arc very small, and readily absorbed. Wheat is offering in moderate qualities this week at official quotations. Oats.—The market remains firm.
