THE SECOND DIVISION.

5000 CALLED UP. WELLINGTON, Oct 30. The first ballot of the Second Division of the Expeditionary Force Reserve was commenced by the Government Statistician, Mr Malcolm Fraser yesterday, and concluded this morning. The supervising magistrate was Mr S. E McCarthy, S.M., and Mr J. P. Luke, Mayor of Wellington, was also in attendance The total number of men in Class Ais 15,292 and of J these 5000 were drawn. The result of the ballot will be announced by “Government Gazette” on Tuesday, November 6. In addition 1500 men, being accretions from the First Division, will be called up on the . same occasion without the taking of a ballot. The men now drawn are not required to mobilise before March next
