GERALD ANDERSON’S WAR STORY.
On Tuesday niglxt Mr. Gerald Anderson will give his now famous war story and show by pictures at the Town HaK. Mr. Anderson has met with a remarkable success on his New Zealand tour. A leading daily contemporary writes; 11 A man of wide and varied experience both as a soldier and a journalist, familiar with all the countries in which New Zealand soldiers have fought and are still fighting in the great world-war, and a capable platform speaker to boot,' Mr. Gerald Anderson, easily succeeded - in holding for two hours r the undivided httehtion of the large audience which last evening assembled in the Opera House to listen to his most interesting story. To describe Mr Anderson as one of the best lecturers we have been privileged tb hear is to do him less than justice. “A range of observation, as to cover practically all the fields of operation in which our men have so gallantly played their part, necessarily involves a lengthy story; but Mr Anderson, covers the 1 ground in masterly fashion, From the bloodless occupation of Samoa to the glorious but ill-fated adventure of (Gallipoli, across the scorching sands of the Arabian deserts, to Turkey,- Mesopotamia, East Africa, France, ‘and Belgium, his thrilling narrative proceeds with logical sequences, presenting to the mental vision of his hearers a wonderfully comprehensive panorama of the stupendous international conflict. The story he tells so well is illustrated with a very fine series of lantern views, and brightened by many well-told anecdotes, while, incidentally, it contains quite a number of interesting tit bits of information hitherto not generally made known to the public at large.”
