Others sold in the rain that swept ■ the streets to waiting and cheering crowds. Throughout the night thousands telegraphed their subscriptions. The New York, districts total is more than half-a-billion, of which, twenty banks took more than fifteen millions each. The Guaranty Trust subscribed 105. millions. Thirteen million buttons were distributed to Bond buyers. Mr. MeAdoo says the loan is an overwhelming success.

It is announced that the world's wheat crop, excluding Russia, is 1,775,000,000 bushels, about eight-five per cent, of the amount, in normal times. ENEMY PROPERTY TO BE SEIZED WASHINGTON, Oct 27. The endeavoured to duplicate the U-boat methods in every detail. Edison refuses to make a statement regarding the results.
