AUCKLAND MARKETS. Prices realised for fat stock at the Westfield market on Wednesday showed a further slight drop in beef. Choice ox beef sold up to £2 15s per 1001 b, which is a drop of 5s on the highest price realised during the past winter. Veal was in good demand runners fetching up to £l3. Mutton was also in demand, and prices were nearly up to last week's figures, one pen of wethers in the wool bringing £3. Spring lambs were yarded in large numbers, the best lines realising from £1 3s to £1 7s 9d, others averaging from. 17s to £1 2s 6d: Pigs realised up to last week's values, the demand for them being keen. ACTION UNDER WAR REGULATIONS. WELLINGTON, this day. The Full Court delivered judgment in the case Skipper v dimming, an appeal against conviction of the appellant by the magistrate at Rotorua under the War Regulations, for publishing a likely to interfere with recruiting. The Court held that the words used by appellant were a violation of the Regulations, and dismissed appeal, with £lO costs and witnesses' expenses, and disbursements. The Court also decided the Supreme Court has no power to vary or amend a sentence imposed by a magistrate and that it could only affirm or quash the conviction.
