LONDON, October 25 An Italian official message says: The enemy launched a strong attack after a most violent bombardment, especially between Mount Roniben, south of Tolmiuo, and the northern edge of the Bainsizza Plateau. We resisted, but more southward the enemy penetrated our advanced lines on the left ,bank of the Isonzo, and crossed the river at Saint Maria mid Saint Lucia

We checked powerful attacks westward of Volnik, and also on the western slopes of San Gabrielle, three miles northeast of Gorz.

A German official message says: The enemy maintained most violent drumfire between Houthulst Wood and Passchendaele.

The Austrians and Germans attacked on a thirty-kilometre (IS miles) front on the Isonzo, and penetrated the Filtch Basin and Tolmino, overrunning strong positions in the first thrust,.The Italians desperately resisted, and the fighting continues. We took prisoner by the evening ten thousand, including divisional brigades and staffs, and captured rich booty.
