f Me§.?rs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd. "report:— '— - At Palmerston North on the 18th inst., we had a good entry of cattle and a small muster of sheep. There was a good demand for all classes of cattle and most lines changed hands, young stock selling well. All the sheep yarded sold. Business was transacted at the following rates: Forward cows £lO 10s to £lO 17s 6d, good cows £S 2s 6d to £9, thin cows and calves £8 to £9 15s, dairy cows £8 to £l2, good ditto to £l6 10s, springing dairy heifers £lO 15s to £l2 12s 6d, heifers in milk £8 10s, to £lO os, yearling steers £8 7s 6d to £9 Ss, small and poor ditto'£6 5s to £7 4s, small yearlings £5, cull yearling heifers £3, 2 year bulls, £8 15s, to £l2 10s, 2 and 4-th wethers 37s 6d, aged ewes and lambs 31s, aged empty ewes 15s to 22s 6d, small B.F. Hoggets 25s 6d. At Fielding on the 19th inst. we had a fairly good' entry of both sheep and cattle which were submitted to a good attendance of buyers. Cattle were in good demand and sold well. Sheep were rather in and out and prices on the whole were slightly easier than last week's rates. Z\ year steers made £ls, medium fat heifers £l3 10s, dairy cows (medium) £9 10s, forward cows £9 12s, to £lO 17s, store cows £6 10s, to £8 ss, yearling heifers £5 2s 6d, to £6 10s, 2 year 8. H. Bulls £l4 to £l9, fat ewes 36s Id to 38s 6d, fat black face hoggets 32s Id, hoggets 33s to 355, medium ditto 25s 6d to 29s 3d.
