PALMERSTON NORTH SHOW.

It is very wonderful how the entries for our shows keep up despite the! very severe shortage of labour which, is now being felt all round. Entries} have finally closed and the secretary informs us that the grand total is ahead of last year, as is always the case some of the sections are slacker than last year and others again are fuller so that the average is more than maintained this year. Cattle arc again very strong as are competitions and horses, but sheep are somewhat neglected, though a very fine showing will be penned. Dogs and all other subsidiary divisions, are very much as usual with the exception of schools which have greatly increased, owing to a thorough re-drafting of the schedule. All pre* parations are now well forward and the necessary requisite now to ensure another of those very successful shows! for which Palmerston North is famous is fine weather.
