SYDNEY Oct 17. Evidence given at an inquiry into a recent fire ,on a steamer lying at Miller’s Point indicated incendiarism. When Harold Batten, formerly employed by the Union Company, appeared in Court charged with forging a seaman’s discharge certificate, the pplice stated that a quantity of gelignite, dynamite, detonators ? fuses and correspondence relating to explosions on ships was found in his possession.
