IN A MUD-HOLE.

WAGON DRIVER KILLED. A peculiar accident, with, immediately fatal results to a man nanied Michael Horan happened in the neighbourhood of Mahirakau, in the Ohura district, on Thursday afternoon, a mishap said to be due primarily to the bad roads. Horan was driving a wagon, which became stuck in a mud-hole on the road. A wagon driven by one Eastbrook rendered assistance, and hauled the vehicle and Horan, standing on the front shafts to urge ,on his team, commenced to drive on # A couple of chaius further on the cart plunged down into another hole, and by the jolt Horan was thrown down between the •horses and the wheels. A front wheel passed over his body, and one at the back caught, him and dragged the body some ten or a dozen yards through the mud. The horses were stopped and the leaders of another team had to be requisitioned to drag the wheel off the body, which was found to be frightfully crushed. Death must have been instantaneous, as his back was broken.
