BOWLING NOTES.
A general committee meeting of the Taihape Bowling Club was held last night.
Centre Shield Matches. —It was decided to enter in this competition this year provided no rinks enter from clubs north of Wanganui. To induce us to enter the Wanganui Centre has consented to the Taihape Club playing their three games in Wanganui on one day. This arrangement will reduce travelling to a minimum. The hon. secretary was instructed to enter challenges for both the "Hurn" and "Keesing" Cups. It was arranged to have a suggestion book placed in the pavilion, in which member s could enter any suggestions in their opinion would promote the welfare of the club. 'lt was decided that the Tennis Club be informed that the proposal that the combined clubs take over the Red Cross shop at some future date will be considered early in the New Year. It was decided to hold a rink tournament on Labour Day, October 22; entries for which will be received at Mr D. Neagle's shop up till 8 o'clock on Saturday morning next Entrance fee, 2 S per player. *-•-• "•-- Morning play will commence at* 10 o'clock sharp and afternoon play at 2,30.
The players in the various rinks will be placed by the match committee.
One game of 21 heads will be played in the morning and two games of 14 heads each in the afternoon. In the event of a tie the match committee will arrange when and' in what manner the. play-off game or games shall be decided.
Trophies will be presented to each player in the rink winning the greatest number of games. The committee hopes that every member will enter and so ensure a successful day.
