RED CROSS ART UNION.
There is on view in Mr. F. W. Somevillo’s window a valuable piece of furniture which with contents will become the property of the lucky winner of the Taihape “Our Day" ‘Art Union. This beautiful piece of Oak furniture along with one Eiderdown quilt, 6 pairs single sheets, 6 pairs double sheets, 6 table cloths 12 tea tow r els, 6 bath towels, 12 servettes, C pillow slips and 6 pillow shams, of a total value of £SO is the gift of Mr; A. B. Young, Ruauni. The art union is held with the permission of the Minister of Internal Affairs and all pro- ! ceeds from it go to swell Taihape’s “Qur Day" Red Cross Effort. Apart from the cause, the valuable and useful prize appeals to all, young or old, married, engaged or single, so the committee hope per medium of Mr. Young’s generosity to add a handsome sum to the Red Cross Fund. Mrs. Batt with her characteristic energy and zeal in helping in all patriotic matters has consented to give her valuable services in disposing of tickets, In due course, all residents will be approached by Mrs Batt, so to save argument have your shilling ready. But do not wait to be asked, it is to your benefit and to the benefit of the Red Cross Fund that you come forward and voluntarily purchase your chances of winning the hadnsome prize—the more tickets you hold the better chance of winning. Tickets are also on sale in the Taihape business houses and representatives of the Red Cross in the country districts.
