FEDERAL BUTTER DEAL. 30,000 TONS PURCHASED. MELBOURNE, Oct. 8. Mr. Hughes has completed the butter deal. Britain purchases 30,000 tons at 151 s per cwt, f.o.b. first grade; and one shilling less for each lower grade. 1 The deal involves four and a half millions sterling.
