TAIHAPE FIRE BRIGADE

The usual monthly meeting of t Taihape Fire Brigade was held la night, Captain S. Reid, in the chair. Mr. I. J. The captain pointed out that t fireman was proba.bly one of the m competent in the Dominion. Eventual as a final means of bringing home him a sense of his responsibilities was decided that the secretary wr: asking him to show cause why should not bo struck off the roll. The question of loaning the hose the Council was left to the discretion the custodian. The question of uniforms for members of the brigade was then < cussed at some length, it being unE mously admitted that their present c dition was not such as would ent the wearers to medals at a costu ball. Eventually it was decided make the nondiscript condition of brigade’s uniforms known to the I ough Council, with a request to t body to supply six new wubking forms at the rate of two aOionth. With regard to the I Brigade Demonstration to be 1 shortly, it was stated that two ph were in the running as the place venue —Levin and Taihape—with the tickets on the latter. Branchman Mathie reported that the automatic fire alarms were in isfactory working order. It was decided that in view of fine weather and the approaching monstration two practices be held ( month. —on the second and foi Tuesdays! Lieut. Green and Fireman Wa were nominated for attendance at Town Hall for the current month A vote of thanks to the chair eluded the meeting.
