KORNILOFPS REVOLT. INTRIGUE BY PRINCE LVOFF. . » PETROGRAD Sept 26. k: v Savinoff, ex-Minister for War, writing in the "Bourse Gazette," explains that the Korniloff revolt was due to a misunderstanding. After M. Savinoff obtained M. Kerensky's consent, t'o General Korniioff's proposed reforms, Prince Lvoff informed Korniloff that Kerensky was willing to form a directorate, of which Kerensky, Korniloff and Savinoff would be the principal members. Korniloff agreed, whereupon Prince Lvoff -handed M. Kerensky an ultimatum written by himself, but purporting to come from Korniloff, demanding that Korniloff be dictator. Ignorant of Prince Lvoff's ultimatum, General Korniloff replied to M. Kerensky's telegraphed in quiry that he subscribed to Prince Lvoff's words written on Korniloff's behalf. Thereupon Korniloff was relieved of his command and revolted. OPERATIONS IN THE BALTIC Received 8.35. • ; LONDON, Sept 28. Their disappearances was discovered recently when a rich American offered to buy pearls for £25 i 000 apiece. She had peon them worn by the Czarina at Cowes regatta some years ago. The Russian Government instituted inquiries. The palace museum safes were opened in the presence of experts, when the beSt jewels of the Imperial crown were found to have been replaced by imitations. Later it was discovered that the stones were sent by diplomatic messenger to the Czarina's German residence at Dramstadt. It was further 'discovered that valuable tapestries at the palace had been replaced by copies, the originals being sent abroad.
