A COURT MARTIAL

ACCUSATION AGAINST A PRIVATE. WELLINGTON, this day. A court martial was opened at Featherston yesterday to hear a charge against Pte. H. H. Thompson. formerly an insurance agent of Wanganui, that he made in a statement an accusation that-Br Hotop, of Featherston Military Camp, was under the influence of liquor while examining Thompson. Accused, who has been attached to the Records Office, was examined on August 8 } and declared fit for active service. He expressed surprise at the decision and wrote to the camp authorities making a complaint, including the statement forming the subject of the chaTge. The case is unfinished.
