RETURNED SOLDIERS.

Particulars as to the officers, noncommissioned officers and men who have returned to New Zealand from the front, up to the end" of August were given in the House of Representatives yesterday by the Defence Minister. Of 11,493 who had returned, 9466 had been either gazetted out of the forces or discharged; 1260 had returned to duty; 181 were in hospital; 246 in the out-patients' departments; 30 on leave; 19 on special leave; 14 had died; 5 had deserted; and 1 was in prison.
