GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP.
The following is a continuation o£ the account of the championshipgame on Sunday: 10th Hole. —Andrews sliced and Evans drove high equal distance; Evans topped the second, mishit; third Evans mishit "andsliced, Andrews bad lie, hit a few yards only; fourth Andrews in ruts,, gave up" hole. Evans four up.
11th Hole. —Evans topped drive r Andrews low drive 120 yards; second Evans used wood and made good recovery, Andrews fair stroke to left; third Evans a beautiful stroke within 12 inches ,of hole, An3rews outside green; fourth Evans holed, Andrews 1 12 inches off; fifth Andrews holed/ Evans five up.
12th Hole.—Evans drove magnificently 175 yards, Andrews straight 150 yards; second, Evans from bad lie put in a wonderful shot and landed 12 inches off hole Andrews over bog 20 yards off green; third EvtrlTs holed, Andrews played. through and past green. Evans six up. 13th Hole.—Both drove well, 1 Andrews slightly ahead; second, Evans, on hill above green, Andrews into hill; third Andrews past green, good. stroke hit through; fourth Andrews short stroke, Evans past hole; fifth,. Evans holed, Andrews missed. Evans - seven up. 14th Hole. —Evans sliced and Andrews pulled drive; second, Evans within 1 yard of green, Andrews 20i yards off; third Andrews three yards off Evans 2ft off; fourth Evans, holed, Andrews 2ft off; fifth Andrews holed. Evans eight up. 15th Hole. —Both drove well, Evans--20 yard s better; second, Andrews short, too much turf, Evans short; Evans 29 yards off green, An- • drews 20 yards above green; fourth,. Evans 2 yards off hole, Andrews through and "past green; fifth, Evans --, holed Andrews 12 inches off; Andrews holed. Evans nine up. Evans' score steadily mounted up,, and at the 23rd hole was 12 up. At the 24th hole ? Evans with a beautifuldrive reached half-way to green, Andrews thirty yards behind; > second, Andrews good stroke 20 yards off' green, Evans through and past, Andrews' third short five yards above green, Evans post-holed; fourth Andrews over hole, Evans six inches off; sixth Andrews 12 inches off, Evans holed; sixth Andrews holed. Evans--13 up.
Evans therefore won by 13 up and 12 to play. The stroke play will more correctly show the excellence of theplay of both Evans and Andrews the strokes for each hole being: Evans: 6,6, 5,6, 3,4, 4, 5 5—44 forfirst round; Andrews: 6 7,7, 8,4, 4,. 4,5, 3—48 for first round; Evans 5,4, 3,5, 4, 5 4,4, 3—37 for second round; Andrews 6,5, 5,6, 5 6,5, 4, 4 —46 for second round; Evans 6,5, 5, 3 5, Andrews 5,6, 5,5, 6 for part of third round. - JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. Mr H. O'Callaghan had a good wffi( in the junior championship, but hisopponent, Mr T. Bradley was not in the best of health but in spite of this insisted on playing at the appointed time. The first round finished up in favour of O'Callaghan 1 up, the second 7 up and the third 10 up. O'Callaghan won the first hole of the , fourth round and eventually won by 11 up and nfne to play.
