A MAN BUNS AMOK. SLASHES ABOUND WITH AN AXE. A man named Bennier, at Kaunnaroa. n'e-’r Wanganui, took an axe Irom tie wood heap and set about murdering all the occupants, in the house. The names of the victims of one of the most sensational occurrences which has taken place in the Wanganui district for years, are as follows: A. E. Beckam, labourer. Athelston Conroy Bayler, aged 19 (whose parents live on No. 2 Line.) Henry Matson aged 19 (whose parents reside at Wanganui East.) Norman Young aged 17, whose parents reside at Fordell.) Mrs. Backam (wife of the first mentioned.) Mrs. Bonnjcr. wife 0 f F. Bennier, who subsequently cut his throat with a razor. The hospital doctor states that had th e axe been sharp all victims would have been killed. In tw'O cases the brain is protruding Matson is still in a critical condition. Mrs. Bennier i s in a low state. Bennier cut his throat to the windpipe.
