ITALIANS STILL ADVANCING. ENEMY POSITIONS FURIOUSLY BOMBARDED . LONDON, September 3. Italian Official. —We advanced further eastward in the Brcstovizza Valley. ROME, September 3. The Italians are furiously bombarding Mounts San Gabrielle and San Danicle. The former has been completely isolated for the past week. The mountain batteries’ reply is feeble, owing to the heavy artillery having been removed to Ternova Plateau. Austrian prisoners now coming in belong to the reserve units. The Germans have enabled the Austrians to transfer five additional divisions from the Eastern to the Italian front. Austria is depleting her home garrisons to provide further reinforcements. General Koevess is succeeding General Sorveivic owing to the failure of the eleventh Isonzo battle. WASHINGTON, September 4. A despatch to the Italian Embassy states that Germans, who were rushed to the Austro-Italian front, are being pushed back. Emperor Charles visited the front for the purpose of encouraging the Austrians. The Italians continue successfully. GENERAL CABLES DESTRUCTIVE EARTHQUAKE Received 8.50 a.m. WASHINGTON, Sept. 4. The State Department has been informed of an earthquake at Bogota, Colombia by which 300 houses were destroyed. The casualties are not known. CANADIAN ELECTION BILL. ALL ENEMIES DISFRANCHISED. Received 8.50 a.m. OTTAWA, September 4. The War Time Election Bill provides for the disfranchisement of Germans and 'Austrians naturalised in Canada, during recent years; for the enfranchisement of the wives and relatives of soldiers and the disfranchisements of conscientious objectors.
