A SUDDEN DEATH.

DE, E. C. BARNETT’S DEATH. The very great number of friends of Dr, E. C. Barnett, who for many years practiced his profession in this district, will sympathise with him in the very sudden demise of his father. He was attending St. Paul’s Methodist Church at Palmerston North, last Sunday; evening, when he fell back in his seat and died almost immediately. Subsequently it was found that heart disease was the cause of death. The (feseased gentleman was on a to Palmerston North, his home being in the South Island. For over 25 years he had been Chairman of the Conterbury Dairy Company. Dr. Barnett has been claimed by the War and he is now in France and consequently will only learn his loss by cable.
