Maximum retail prices will be fixed { on the basis of these prices. * The cheese market continues firm. English cheddar, 1325. Hemp—The Manila market shows no material change. Some fair quantity has arrived which will greaaly assist manufacturers. The output August Ist to 15th, was 52,000 bales. The N.Z. market is practically cleared In view of possible Government action, values are firmly maintained on the basis of £94 per ton for high point fair, but at this price consumers evince little interest. Wheat Moderate business has been done. Third grade .Manitoba northern afloat 80s; the oats market is steady at last quotations.
