At the Military Service Board, siting at Wellington yesterday, Mr M. McVilly stated that arrangements had been made to release an additional 137 men, which cleared up 400 drawn in the first railway ballot. The Department did not ask for any further delay in these cases. Kach man would be notified that he had the right of personal appeal. :, The total number appealed for by the department 'since November, 1916, was 1285 Of these 500 had been dismissed, including the first 400 in the railway ballot, and 52 withdrawn.
