. THE MOSCOW CONFERENCE. Received 8.55. PETROGRAD, August 26. The Provisional Government has decided that the Moscow Conference cannot have a decisive import, its object being merely to acquaint the people's representatives with the Government's views on the political situation. ROUMANIAN .OFFENSIVE. LONDON, August 24. A Prussian official message states: "The Roumanians attacked northward of Grozestche, north-east of S'qvera. The enemy occupied a portion of a trench in the directon of- Buzeu, but our counter-attack ejected them. NEW DIFFICULTIES THREATENED. August 25. The Mosc ; ow conference has been fixed for Sunday. New difficulties threaten Russia. The railwaymen of two important railroads threaten to strike as a protest against the Government. At present there is some doubt as to whether the strike will eventuate, because the Railwaymen's Congres s at Moscow favours concerted action by ail railwaymen. Meanwhile possibly the danger may be averted by the militarisation of fee railways, in deference to Korniloff's demand. It is reported that Kerensky opposes Korniloff'si.demand. It is believed a compromise will be reached. he extreme Socialists apparently fear the result of the Moscow Confrence, and have begun a campaign against Korniiloff. It i s not expected that the Moscov Confernece will take any vote. The President will close the procedings if conflict arises. Maximilist and Social Democrat are boycotting the conference.
