CORONERS INQUEST.

DOCTOR’S EVIDENCE TAKEN. At the resumed inquest this morning on the body of Albert George Maurer, who died suddenly Wednesday afternoon. Dr. Mae Diarmid stated thav -.he received a call to Mr. Spooner’s property at about 4.45 p.m. on Wednes-' day. When he arrived he found life was extinct. The deceased had been dead from 10 minutes to half-an-hour. The man appeared fo have fallen face down wards and to have died immediately. On Thursday he made a/ post-mortem examination. There were signs of past inflammation of the brain. The stomach was quite empty. He found the muscles of the heart flabby and degenerate and death had resulted from cardiac failure. If the deceased had been picked up when he fell his life could not have been saved.

A verdict was given in accordance with the doctor’s evidence.
