■ THE DOVER RAID Received 940 a.m. LONDON. August 23 The Press Bureau reports that the total casualties in yesterday’s raid on Dover and Ramsgate were 11 killed and 20 injured. TAKING TOLL OF THE RAIDS. Received 11.42. LONDON, August 23. Lord French reports' that in addition to two Gothas downed a third was brought down by our naval machinss close to the coast. Dunkirk reports another of our patrols engaged during the flight 25 enemy escorting scouts; five of the enemy being brought down, and probably more. All ; our machines returned safely, RAID ON YORKSHIRE COAST. LONDON, August 23. In connection with the raid on the Yorkshire coast last night searchlights along the Humber caught a Zeppelin at a height of two miles. Gunfire prevented the visitor reaching its objective. It dropped a number of bombs before disappearing. AIRSHIP GOES INLAND. LONDON, August 215. Another official message' states that one, or at most two, airships which were raiding the Yorkshire coast last night, ventured overland and dropped shells on three villages near the coast, wrecking a chapel and damaging houses. One- man was injured. The Admiralty Tepbrls that naval aeroplanes attacked ten Goth'as in the vicinity of Ramsgate at a height of 11,000 feet. They shot down one in addition to the two; already reported and chased the remainder oversea The Admiralty reports, (that three machines from Dunkirk indecisively engaged twelve Gothas, 35 miles northward of Nieuport. They chased them to Zeebrugge. Another patrol of ton machines engaged 2 enemy escorting scouts, who were awaiting the raiders from England, and drove down at least five completely uncontrollable. Accurate counting was impossible, owing to the close fighting. AH ours returned.
