Some mean and petty thief'has* been for some tim e appropriating the illustrated pages in the Auckland Weekly News kept on the Taihapo Reading Room table. 80 far the purlonier has escaped, but some day Nemesis will overtake him. But for calculated ingenuity ‘.flhe person who has lately taken to substituting “dead” eleetraa light bulbs for the “live” ones, is hard to boat. A day or two ago two bulbs refused to respond and the custodian replaced them with two he had marked. However, not to be denied, those also were appropriated. However, the custodian has a pretty shrewd idea of who the malefactor is, and if they are not returned very shortly there will bo further trouble for someone. A person who could be guilty of such petty thievery deserves condign punishment—something “with burning oil in it.” Don’t be anxious little mother; All your needless fears dispel; Tho’ your darling seems to smother In the morning she’ll be well. If you’ll keep her -warm and cheerful, And all -home-made dopes abjure— Don’t be timid, tired and tearful. Give her Woods’ Groat Peppermint Cure.
