THREE ARRESTS.

ALLEGED DISLOYAL LANGUAGE,

At Eaetihi on Saturday night Constable McGowan arrested George Lloyd on warrant for failure to attend the Medical Board after being drawn by ballot for military service. After midnight, others of the family visited the police station with the object, it is underestood, of communicating with the captive. This desire was gratified to the extent that two of the party, Fredk. and Joseph James Lloyd, by tactful handling on Constable McGowan’s part, also became guests of the State, for the time being. 'At formal court proceedings on Monday, before Mr. Fagg, J.P., Frederick Lloyd was charged with using obscene language and uttering disloyal statements; Joseph James was charged with obscene language and with threatening behaviour. The charges arose out of a disturbance following the arrest of George Lloyd, The accused wore remanded to Wanganui, whither they were taken by Constables Me Cowan and Anison. —“Countv Call.”
