THREE STARS. The Labour Laws as they are called of certain American States which permit the leasing of convicts form the basis of the original World play "Broken Chains" screened to-night at the Three Stars. Ethel Clayton is a lovable heroine and paints the charadter of the girl who refuses to doubt her lover in face of the most terrible chain of circumstances with great power. Beverley Carlyle is the young Cavalry Officer who finds himself a convict on the terrible charge of murder is handsome and dashing as ever and withal, acts with great charm. The story is unique. The murder which is i the central incident is full of grim. realism, and is most ingeniously contrived. A great deal of th e camera work has been done out of doors and the play w is full of beautiful scenes. The conflict between Negroes and white takes its place in the formation of the plot of "Broken Chains." The hero, lighting upon a district where feeling runs high is soon accused of wishing to stir up the black element and from that accusation springs bitter trouble. "Would you remain faithful to a mam convicted of your brother's murder? This is a difficult question to answer but .the adorable heroine of '' Broken Chains'' gave no uncertain reply. .;;!•-; _ __ :. -j, EVERYBODY'S.St]
