DR. BARNARDO’S DAY.
THE FINANCIAL RESULT. The concert in aid of the funds for Dr. Barnardo’s Homes realised £2l Os 9d. This amount includes £7 from Mr. R. Wilkie and £1 from Mr. G. A. Wheeler. The proceeds of the day come to £Bl Ss lid; tins includes 5s from Mrs. Powell. Mr. Wilson guessed £BO 14s 6d, and this being the nearest Mr. Wilson wins the doll. The committee wishes to thank one and all who helped to make fhe day such a success. By an inadvertence this journal was unable to pliblish detals of the really fine entertainment that was given in the evening, which was a distinct credit to everyone who assisted, it being one of the best ever given in the town.
A Taihape carrying business is quick sale owing to the owner being called up in the last ballot. There is a lorry, hooded van and five horses.
