LARGE STEAMER MISSING.
,'- ;: TWO WEEKS OVERDUE. K > DUNEDIN, July 18. Some anxiety is being felt in ship* ping circles concerning the whereabouts of one of the Union Company's! large cargo steamers. The vessel le£t a New Zealand port some weeks ago for a Pacific Coast port. She was due at her destination over a fortnight ago, and, although efforts have been, made to get into touch with the; steamer by wH*Btess, no tidings have been received as to her possible whereabouts. Other steamers of the Union Company's fleet which use the same track as the Overdue vessel have been istructed by tfj keep a sharp lookout for her. Thfe steamer (the name of >which cannot be mentioned) may possibly have met with an accident to her machinery. .;/
