THE RUSSIAN CAMPAIGN A GERMAN COUNTER OFFENSIVE ANTICIPATED. MAKING PREPARATIONS TO MEET IT. Received 11.19. WASHINGTON, July 16. The Russian Embassy has been informed that German troops are being withdrawn from the Italian and French fronts and sent to Riga to start a counter-offensive against Russia. The Russian Baltic Fleet is being prepared for action. MORE RUSSIAN SUCCESSES. A FORTNIGHT’S TAKINGS. The High Commissienr reports^— LONDON, July 16. Russian official report: On Sunday we captured 16 officers, 900 Aus-tro-German soldiers and a number of machine-guns. Captures between July 1 and 13 total 834 officers, 35,609 men, 93 guns, 28 trench mortars, 403 machine-guns, 43 mine-throwers, two aeroplanes and a, large quantity of other material. DOLINA CAPTURED. Received 9.15. LONDON, July 16. The Russians have captured Dolina. GERMANS AS ASSASSINATORS. KERENSKY’S LIFE IN DANGER. Received 9.15. PETROGRAD, July 16. The Russian Intelligence Department has learned that the Germans are sending 700 spies to Russia in order to attempt to assassinate Kerensky. The Russians have adopted extraordinary precautions to guard particularly against bombl# and train wrecks.

Mr. Wilton, correspondent at the Russian south-western headquarters, says the self-sacrificing example of commanding officers and subalterns is greatly inspiring the men. - The army committees heroically march at the -head of attacking waves. The Russians have already achieved great deeds with regiments terribly depleted by desertions and sickness. The success has so stimulated zeal that large reinforcements are arriving. The future possibilities are excellent. The Germans are much alarmed and are rushing reinforcements SPom France. Many Austrian positions are exceedingly strong. - The Austrians suffered terribly and surrendered wholesale with little resistance. i FURTHER RUSSIAN SUCCESSES. LONDON, July 15. Wireless Russian official. —We repulsed several attacks . south-west-wards of Kaluza against our Dobrub-diany-Novica front. We prisonered six hundred. As the result of a series of stubborn attacks in the region of Lodziany we drove out the Austrians from their positions and prisonered over a thousand, besides taking a number of guns. The enemy is attacking on the Lomnica river crossing, near Perekhinsko in an effort to throw us across the right bank of the Lomnica. WATCHING THE .GERMANS. A FEDERAL REPUBLIC FORECASTED. Received 11.5 PETROGRAD, July 16. The Government has ordered a strict watch to be kept on German agents who have arrived in Russia, it is believed to carry out the assassination of Kerensky and other ministers. Addressing a Ukraine deputation, Kerensky said he looked forward to the establishment of one family of fraternal peoples under a Federal Republic. SERBIA’S CAPITAL. Received 11.5. ATHENS, July 16. The Serbian Government has been transferred to Salonika. FRANCE’S DAY. GREEK KING’S FELICITATIONS. PARIS, July 15. The King of Greece, in a message to President Poincare, appreciatively refers to France’s heroic struggle for the triumph of right, justice and liberty, wherein Greece will happily- be able henceforth to participate.
