Jalfco| residing with his wife and tacked his 18-year-old son with a knife. p 7 A quarrel arose in the house ar'dinner, and it is alleged that Jackson seized a knife and stabbed his son. Realising AA'hat he had done, Jacksou saddled a horse an galloped to Ashhurst for medical assistance, AA r hich was procured, and the young man was brought to Palmerston Hospital. His condition became worse late last night, and the police were communicated Avith. Jackson AA r as arrested at an hotel in Asbhurst, and brought toPalmerston early this morning. The young man gradually became worse and died about 8 o’clock this morning. Accused appeared before the magistrate, Mr. Kenrick Jackson, in an agitated condition, charged with assault, stabbing, and killing his son, Thomas Jackson.
Sub-Inspector McKinnon asked for a remand, which was granted.
