DESPERATE GERMAN EFFORTS. USING CATHOLIC ORGANISATIONS. Received 8.45 a.m. AMSTERDAM, June 22. The German Roman Catholic clergy are straining every effort to use German peace. The German press exhorts Catholics in Switzerland, Spain and Holland to take the leaderships. GERMAN SOCIALISTS' VIEW OF PEACE. Received 9.10 a.m. STOCKHOLM, June 21. Herr Schcldemann and his colleagues have declared their readiness to participate in an International Conference at Petrograd, pointing out they concur in Russia's avowed aims of peace without annexation or indemnities.
