LONDON PRODUCE MARKET. , HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLE. i WELLINGTON, June 18. The High Commissioner's market report, dated London, June 1(5, is as follows (quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on stop): Meat. —All descriptions of frozen meat continues in good demand, but the demand has considerably fallen off for home-killed mutton, and English meat. There is fair demand for home-killed beef owing to scarcity of Argentine beef. New Zealand mutton, per pound 8 7-Sd; ewe mutton, Ski; Argentine mutton, (small supplies), lOd, New Zealand lamb, lOd; Argentine lamb, lid. Argentine beef, no quotations owing to short supply.
Butter. —The market is quiet, Danish, salted 198/- to 200/-;' Irish creamery, salted 184/-, 188/; ditto, unsalted 190/(5 to 194/6. New Zealand, salted 189/ to 191/; ditto, unsalted 190/ to 195/. Australian, salted 150/ to 184/; ditto, unsalted 180/ to 188/. Argentine, no official quotations, no supplies available. Cheese. —The market is very quiet, and buyers are waiting until cheese under Government control has been released. Heavy supplies of inferior quality Dutch cheese. No official quotation. Hemp.—The Manila hemp market remains as last reported. The New Zealand hemp market continues firm. Offerings are very small, and extreme prices are asked. Nominal quotations are N.Z. high point fair, £B9 per ton; fair, £B7: common, £BS, for reasonably early delivery. Stocks on hand on the Ist June totalled 495 tons N.Z. hemp. Wheat.—The market is quiet, but firm. Official quotations are No. 2 Manitoba Northern, S2/6; No. 2, hard winter, SO/; Australian, 83/Oats.—The market is" dull, with a downward tendency.
