WHIRLWIND AT HUNTLY.

Received 9.15 a.m. AUCKLAND, this day.

A whirlwind passed over Huntly on Sunday morning. and. p fourroomed house occupied by J. Dooley, a farmer* was lifted off the bloeks and carried into .the adjoining paddock. Paterson, Dooley’s neice, who was in the building had her face severely cut, and was removed to the Homilton Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Dooley, who wore in a lean-to with a mud floor, were left standing. They were only slightly injured. In the cemetery the whirlwind demolished several tombstones. A second house was unroofed, many other buildings damaged and large trees blown out.
