AMUSEMENTS.

EVERYBODY'S.

§r ' ’ On ing to the regrettable non-hrrival of Audrey, last night another star picture "The Quest of Life/’ wa3 shown. It is a Famous Players pro* duetiou and presents two of the most widelj and popularly known dancers and artists of the terpichorean world to the photoplay world in the peonages of Maurice and Florence Waltofe* After having danced themselves into the a ery heart of royalty in nearly every foreign clime, these celebrated dancers now immortalise themselves on the celluloid for the benefit of the millions of picture patrons. The Famous Players have scored the novelty hifc' of tho season in this picture. Tha celebrated Apache Dance, which is reproduced in the Quest of Life,” was created by Maurice after he had seen the crude performance in the Apache dance in Paris. The picture itself !3 wonderful, containing big dramatic moments and tolling a forceful story of the struggles of an ambitious girl of lowly parentage, whoso life’s path crosses that of the celebrated dancer, Maurice Brotton, from which is developed a little tragedy, a groat deal of romance, and in the end, happiness. It will be repeated this evening for the’ last time. * 4 THREE STARS. , At the Three Stars last night thQ star picture was the Metro drama' "Playing with Fire,” with Madame Olga Petrova in the leading character* The Metro pictures have achieved a reputation that is world-wide, but in! the picture screened last night, they have excelled all previous efforts. Apart from tho histrionic features of the drama, the mounting and photography was supc,rb and the transition scenes being full of beautiful and unique surprises. Madame Petrova as Jean Servian, had a part allotted to her which made great calls on her ability as an actress, and her acting was quite up to reputation as an artist of the fi,rst water. The other characters in the drama played their parts splendidly. It is not our intention to give a resume of the drama, but we would advise our readers not to miss seeing; it to-night, as this will be the last screening. The supporting pictures were good, the D.rew comedy being very laughable. To-morrow night will be shown "The Captive God," with W. S* Hart in the leading role.
