The Mayor (Mr. A. L. Arrowsmith) has received the following telegram with reference to the returned soldiers, who, it was previously announced, were to pass through Taihape at 9.30 this morning:— “The Mayor, Taihape—“A special train will pass through Taihape about 4 a.m.. Have arranged for breakfast at Palmerston North. Much regret the trouble caused you, but very grateful at your response to assist. —Defence Officer. ’ ’ It will therefore be understood that some two hundred soldiers with their next of kin will pass through at about 4 o’clock to-morrow morning.
