A correspondent at Italian headquarters states that Austrian counterattacks in great -strength, freshness and tenacity are due to the arrival of more divisions from Russia. Four have been identified in the latest battles.

The "Daily Chronicle's" Roumanian correspondent says the whole of Roumania is watching the Russian situation with the greatest anxiety. Rouis irrevocably bound to the AlTlies. Any defection on Russia's part would result in the disappearance of Roumania from the comity of nations. The army is ready and eager and awaits the signal to attack, but the indifference and inertia of her powerful neighbour paralyses its initiative. Guns and rifles are silent everywhere, The Germans are continually showering leaflets saying the Roumanians are the victims of French and English duplicity. German agents, disguised as Russian officers, readily cross the frontier, seeking to overthrow the Roumanian dynasty, but} the Roumanian solider refused to be cajoled into betraying his king.
