RETURNED SOLDIERS

PASSING THROUGiH TAiHAPE. The Mayor (Mr. A. E. Arrowsmith) received yesterday afternoon the following telegram;—“About 250 returned soldiers and their next of kin will pass through Taihape at 9.20 a.m. on Tuesday. Would your Patriotic Society like to provide breakfast? The train will stay twenty minutes at Taihape. Please reply.” Mr. Arrowsmith replied stating that a light breakfast only could be supplied, as there was •no accommodation for seating such a number.
