E V E E Y E O D Y S. A romance in quality not unlike tho wierdly imagined stories of Poe, and holding strongly from its start, “The Eye of God,” the latest Bluebird picture, which will be shown at Everybody’s to-night, was written by Lois Weber and produced by the Smalleys. While it belongs with the utrai romantic, trap-door-in-lonely-inn kind of melodrama, the mechanism behind it is so simple, and, in the atmosphere of the tale, so convincing, that it gives a diatinctty fresh impression and makes an offering that can be heartily commended. It is strongly worked up and very ably acted. In conjunction with the feature there is an apt list of supports, including an Australian Gazette, a laughable L. Ko. comedy, and the second episode of the great circus serial, “Peg O’ the Ring.” THREE STARS. “The Scarlet Sin,” shown at the Three Stars last night, is an exceptionally fine production, and as it will be shown for the last time to-night, we would advise picture patrons not to miss seeing it. Hobart Boswortb, as the Minister, is the best we have seen him in. In addition there will be screened one of the latest Chaplin pictures, entitled “1 a.m.” —this is Charlie’s . masterpiece. “Wild Animal Life,” showing sport with rod and gun is very interesting, the trained sporting dogs is a treat to witness. The full programme to-night will be an allstar one, and a long way above the average. To-morrow night “Sons of the Sea” will head the list.
