BRITISH GOODS.
AN ASSOCIATION OF AGENTS At a meeting held in Wellington last Wednesday, under the chairmanship of Mr. James Macintosh, an organisation of agents of British manufacturers was formed, with the title, “The New Zealand Association of British Manufacturers and Agents.’ ’ The meeting was largely attended by some of the'most representative agents in the Wellington district (says the Dominion). The gentlemen present were unanimous in the opinion that the association would be of very great value, not merely to the agents themselves, but as a moans' of developing British trade with New Zealand 1 .
A preliminary committee was appointed by the meeting to draw up the articles and rules of the new association, and this committee will report to a Subsequent general meeting of agents. The organisation, it is hoped, will be eventually the Wellington section of a Dominion association, with kindred sec tions in the other centres of New Zealand. It is intended that the association shall meet and discuss any questions that may arise affecting British trade with Now Zealand, with a view to such concerted action as may seem desirable. It was mentioned at the meeting that His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner (Mr R, W. Dalton) was prepared to give the association such help as he properly could, and tire agents were agreed that the new body should keep in close touch with Mr. Dalton when its operations had begun.
