SYDNEY, May 24

Empire Day was celebrated by a display of bunting and great recruiting rallies. A novel tcatirre was that prominent advertisers in newspapers devoted their spaces to appeals. At the Empire League luncheon, a cable was received from Sir Douglas Haig sending greetings and expressing his admiration for the valorous Anzacs.
