FOOTBALL NOTES

Next Saturday afternoon, the public of Taihape will have an opportunity of witnessing a football match between the Taihape footballers and a team from Ohakune.

The proceeds from this match will be donated towards the fund for providing the Taihape soldiers at the front with comforts, so it is hoped that there will be a large attendance to witness the match.

A collection will be taken at the gate and no amount will be too large to be accepted (nor too small). The Taihape team, which lias had one practice will be published in a day or two, and it is expected to give a good account of itself. The veterans' team, which will play the Taihape team on the 16th June, is under way and this team will keep the Taihape hoys busy for an hour. v
