For our business wo Trent a really good slogan or advertising catching phrase. Someone somewhere will write it for us and win our prize of three guineas. The winning slogan will be some happy thought, expressive and catchy, that best sums up our business merits in not more than four words. One firm uses the slogan ‘"Always Busy,” another says, “Johnson for Quality, ’’ while still another uses the catch phrase, “For Value and Service. ’ ’ Brookes Soap slogans, “Won’t Wash Clothes.” One maker asks: “Have you used. Pears Soap?” while another soap always states, “It Floats.” There is nothing remarkably clover about these, but they all express briefly some outstanding feature or merit of the business or article they are attached to. That is what we want. EVERYBODY ELIGIBLE —SIMPLE CONDITIONS. Anyone is eligible except members of our own staff and any number of slogans can bo scut by one person. Write plainly on one side of tilt* paper only, and sign your full name and address. Our judgment to be final; not more than four words to bo used in any slogan but preference given to slogans with less. Ehyming an alii teration preferred.
