SEMPLE’S SENTENCE
WELLINGTON, May 17
Before the Miners’ Federation executive left Wellington it made strong' representations to the Government, urging the release of Robert Semple and others imprisoned for sedition. The Government. I understand, firmIj adhered to its former decision not to release these men.
The question of balloted miners who struck work being ordered to camp is not yet finally decided, some not ha\ ing been medically examined. The Minister for Defence has power—their appeals having been dismissed to either- order them into camp or to remain working in the essential industry of coal mining.
